Residential – Water Softeners

Water Softening is the removal of calcium, magnesium, iron and certain other metal cations in hard water by the use of an ion exchange process. Sol Wave Water uses a two-tank process where raw feed water is passed through a bed of resin “beads” inside the resin tank where the hardness ions in the feed water trade places on the resin beads with sodium ions that are electrostatic ally bound to the beads. Eventually, the resin exhausts its supply of sodium and must be “regenerated”. When the beads have no more room for additional calcium, iron and manganese ions, the unit temporarily goes off-line and the resin tank is flushed with salt water from the brine tank, the source of new exchangeable sodium ions.

The benefits of a water softener:

          1.  For your hair! – Stop spending hundreds of dollars a month on hair care products trying to fight “Santa Barbara Frizz”. Soft water can make your hair feel moisturized and silky without the fuss.                                                                       Frizzy-hairdehydrated-hair-image-of-a-model-looking-worringly-at-her-hairs-700x357
          2.  For your skin! – Hard water and soap combine to create “soap scum”, a waxy layer that can cause itchiness as well as other discomforts and may also hide in the fabrics of your laundry which can aggravate those trying to manage eczema or psoriasis.        soft skin
          3. Your home! – Just like with skin, hard water can leave soap scum on your shower door, dishes, and just about any other surface which may lead you to use harsh chemicals in your household.                                                                        No chemicals
          4. For your wallet! – Water heaters tend to expend more energy when running with hard water. Soft water can significantly reduce your use of soaps and detergents, which may increase the life of your favorite clothes, and outright eliminate the need for rinse aids like JetDry. Soft water is also kinder to your pipes, fixtures, and appliances, reducing the possibility of costly visits from plumbers or repairs.                                                        in the money
